A is for Alligators

One of Mississippi’s apex predators is the infamous alligator.  Often misunderstood yet highly revered, the alligator is shrouded in mystery and myth. Students will learn the truth about this amazing creature as well as its natural habitat and its role in the ecosystem and environment. In this lesson, students will be introduced to key vocabulary, read Alan’s Big Scary Teeth by Jarvis, and engage in a plethora of literary and arts-based activities that include Reader’s Theater and creating the Alligator A.
